Findlay Silver Blades has been an integral part of this community for over four decades, providing Hancock County and surrounding areas with a top-notch figure skating program. Figure skating teaches children of all ages balance, coordination, determination, and teamwork and provides an athletic program for kids of all
Apply online for the 2022-2023 skating season. The membership form and deposit are due by July 1st. Late registrations will be assessed a $25 late fee.

The membership form may be used for new & returning full-year skaters, associate members and half-year memberships.

Please complete this application to apply for an instructor/coach position with Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club (FSBFSC) in our 2022-2023 season.
Our regular season is typically held September/October through January. In February, our show director begins practice for the Ice Classics Show.
Spring Classes are typically held May through the beginning of June, but class times do vary.
All instructor/coach applications are subject to approval by the FSBFSC Board of Directors and the Head Pro. Pending approval of their application, instructors/ coaches are not permitted to use Findlay Silver Blades ice for group, class or private instruction.
Can you answer yes to more than one of these questions?
~ Have you passed ISI Freestyle 6?
~ Have you volunteered for the Findlay Silver Blades Student Instructor program for a minimum of 2 years?
~ Have you completed 30 volunteer hours in the Findlay Silver Blades Student Instructor program?
If you are 16 years old and can answer yes to at least 2 of the above questions, you are eligible to be a Findlay Silver Blades Junior Instructor.
Junior Instructors are permitted to coach Group A and B students/skaters at a rate of $20 per hour. Once a student/skater passes into Group C, your Junior Instructor duties end with the student/skater. At that point, the Head Professional will contact the skater's parent(s)/guardian(s) to discuss their options for further private instruction.
Junior Instructors are required to:
~ Commit to the entire season (October through January).
~ Volunteer to assist on Group A Lesson at least once a week.
All junior instructor applications are subject to approval by the Head Professional. Pending approval of their application, junior instructors are not permitted to use Findlay Silver Blades ice for any form of private instruction. Applications due August 15.

~ Would you like to learn the basics of coaching figure skating?
~ Would you like to help out the younger skaters in the club?
~ Do you need volunteer hours?
If you skate at the Freestyle 4 level (or higher), are in 8th grade (or higher) and can answer yes to at least 1 of the above questions, you are eligible to be a Findlay Silver Blades student instructor for the Findlay Silver Blades Mentorship Program.
This is a volunteer position!
Student Instructors are required to:
~ Commit to the entire season (October through January).
~ Volunteer to assist with a Group A Lesson at least once a week.
~ Register with Learn to Skate USA at at cost of $16. If you are 18 or older, you will be required to do a background check for an additional cost.
~ Complete the Learn to Skate USA Instructor Certification exam. It is free with your Learn to Skate USA registration.
All student instructor applications are subject to approval by the Head Professional. Pending approval of their application, student instructors are not permitted to assist with Findlay Silver Blades group lessons. Applications due August 15.
