Our History and our Focus

Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club is a non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing quality figure skating to the Findlay-Hancock County region. Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club began in 1974 when the Hancock Recreation Center was built to house events that promoted skating and other recreational activities. Since that day, the Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club has continued to grow due to the support of the community and the excitement generated by the club. We are the only Figure Skating Club in Northwest Ohio that has an annual ice-skating show, the Ice Classics Show.

The Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club is proud to be a member of USFS and USFS Learn to Skate. Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating currently has approximately 70 members, ranging between the ages of 3 and 18. Our devoted instructors teach our students figure skating, from the basic to the more advanced levels, and many of our skaters choose to enter various competitions throughout the year.

The Findlay Silver Blades Figure Skating Club is proud to have a talented and giving group of professionals dedicated to the continued growth of our fine organization and the sport of figure skating. We celebrate our 49th year with pride, and a conviction for a wonderful and inspiring future!

Many of our skaters further develop their skills at the collegiate level and return as coaches to spark the love of skating in the club’s next generation of skaters.
