Countdown to Show Time!

 Hello All~

I wanted to take a moment to congratulate  all the skaters on such an amazing job this weekend! Wow is all I can  say! I am so very proud of each and every one of you. Skating is filled  with so many life lessons; the value of hard work, of perseverance, of  grit, of courage, of determination, and of teamwork. It teaches respect,  responsibility and integrity. This season has been hard and difficult  with CoVid, but you all kept practicing, kept getting up when you fell  and kept encouraging each other.    You have taken the life lessons skating teaches and put them into  practice. I could not be more proud! I enjoyed watching each of you grow  this season. And I loved watching you show off all you learned during  show. This was the show that almost wasn't, but you did it. I hope you  made memories that will last a lifetime!

I also  want to say Thank You. Thank you to the board members and all the  parents in our club who helped make this show a reality for the kids.  Their faces though covered could not hide the joy they had when  performing this weekend. Thank you to the board members who applied for  grants to help find the financial means for this show. Thank you to the  parents who spent hours creating programs, working on props, sewing  costumes, sewing sequins, cleaning locker rooms, setting up the backdrop  and taking the whole thing down. Thank you to the parents who cheered  the skaters on in the stands. Thank you to the parents who helped take  tickets, ushered, washed costumes, and were backstage moms. Thank you to  the coaches who volunteered this week to help the kids behind the  scenes. Thank you to the lighting crew and the ways and means table.  Thank you to everyone (parents, grandparents, alumni, etc.) for all that  you did to help these kids have a moment to shine in this difficult  time of CoVid. It is truly awe inspiring to see what a village can do  when they come together. I say it every year at the end of show and this  year it has never rung truer....TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK! I am so  incredibly thankful for this club of givers. I am blessed by you all!  Thank you for making Ice Classics 2021: Iconic a success for the kids.  They needed this show. We needed this show! And now we can all take a  much needed rest with a full and happy heart.
